i just wanted to know if anyone here knows the acceptance rate for transfers at NYU. I talked to an admission person there and they said ppl with an average around a 3.7 GPA usually get in, but space is limited. I have a 3.68 GPA for the fall semester and am involved in a competitive law program here at my current university and got accepted into my university's Honor's college. i got letters of recommendation from a teacher at my university and form a former teacher who use to teach at NYU, and an NYU Alumni.

Just wondering and asking ppl if they know anything about NYU's transfer system/stats and if you guys think i have a shot at getting into NYU. man propz and plz post ur opinions

Bitch I Might Be

yeah dude, sounds like you'd def get in. colleges dont really abide by their policies as strictly as people think. this one school i got into, it was like a 'mandatory' 86-88 average, i dunno what the gpa numbers are, but i had like a 79 average and they still accepted me. i wasnt even in any groups or sports or anything, sat was only 1200. schools are always looking for more $$$$$

According to Princeton Review, out of approx. 35,000 applicants in 2007, they accepted 35% of them. Out of a number of 1,200 early decision applicants, 42% were accepted.

Is that the answer you're looking for?

NYU is a really rough school, its pass/fail system throws out a lot of mediocre students each year. you gotta make sure ur up to par when ur there or else u can be a year in and they will throw you out.

btw 3.68 weighted/nonweighted?

ACCEPTANCE RATE WOULD BE SUSPECTED TO BE VERY LOW SINCE EVERYONE IS TRYING TO HOP THE BANDWAGON...WHAT'S SO GOOD ABOUT IT?
